AOC, Tlaib and Omar Just Teamed Up to Remove Trump From Office

Three freshman Reps in the radical left wing of the Democrat party are calling for President Trump to be impeached after the release of the Mueller report that completely exonerates him.

In March, Pelosi said it was not “worth it” to impeach President Trump.

However, now that her radical new congresswoman are calling for impeachment, she’s no longer commenting. The New York Times reported that Pelosi on Friday declined to comment on whether Congress might launch impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, saying it was not appropriate to criticize him while abroad.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on his inquiry into Russia’s role in the 2016 U.S. election provided extensive details on Trump’s efforts to thwart the probe, but Democratic party leaders have played down talk of impeachment just 18 months before the 2020 presidential election.

“Whatever the issue and challenge that we face, the Congress of the United States will honor its oath of office to protect and defend the constitution of the United States, to protect our democracy,” Pelosi told journalists in Belfast when asked about possible impeachment proceedings.

“The legislative branch has a responsibility of oversight of our democracy and we will exercise that,” she said.

A petition calling for Omar to be impeached from Congress has over 8,000 signatures.

Determined to ignore House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who said in March that she had no interest in attempting to impeach President Trump, the three fresman Congresswomen who have established themselves as the loudest members of the Democratic Party sallied forth yet again on Thursday, reacting to the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report by demanding the impeachment of the president.

Pelosi had told The Washington Post, “I’m not for impeachment. Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.”

But Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who gained a modicum of fame the night she was elected to Congress by screaming, “We’re gonna impeach the motherf*****,” tweeted, “Everything outlined in the #MuellerReport is further proof of what I’ve been saying for a long time: it’s #TimetoImpeach. The first step? The House Judiciary Committee launching an investigation into whether Trump committed impeachable offenses.”

Her compatriot, Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN), now posing as a constitutional expert, echoed, “Impeachment is part of our constitutional responsibility. We have an obligation to investigate whether the President committed impeachable offenses, including: -Obstruction of justice -Violating the Emoluments Clause -Collusion -Abuse of power.”

And of course, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had to jump in, too, tweeting:

Mueller’s report is clear in pointing to Congress’ responsibility in investigating obstruction of justice by the President. It is our job as outlined in Article 1, Sec 2, Clause 5 of the US Constitution. As such, I’ll be signing onto @RashidaTlaib’s impeachment resolution … While I understand the political reality of the Senate + election considerations, upon reading this DoJ report, which explicitly names Congress in determining obstruction, I cannot see a reason for us to abdicate from our constitutionally mandated responsibility to investigate … Many know I take no pleasure in discussions of impeachment. I didn’t campaign on it, & rarely discuss it unprompted. We all prefer working on our priorities: pushing Medicare for All, tackling student loans, & a Green New Deal. But the report squarely puts this on our doorstep.

Ocasio-Cortez may say she takes “no pleasure in discussions of impeachment,” but in an interview she conducted with Univision host Jorge Ramos only days before the November election, Ramos asked Ocasio-Cortez whether she wanted to impeach Trump if she were elected. She replied at length, “I mean, yeah. To me, it’s a no-brainer. Well, I believe that he has violated the law. Violated potentially many laws, whether it’s the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution because he keeps his businesses open that foreign actors kind of participate in financial transactions with. Whether it’s what we are seeing with potentially illegal buyouts of campaign, you know, FEC violations of women that he is trying to silence … But overall, you look at the bar that the Republicans held for impeaching Bill Clinton and somehow impeaching Donald Trump is supposed to be beyond the pale? It seems ridiculous to me.”

If the trio of Congresswomen insist on attempting to impeach Trump, they may well regret it. Former President Bill Clinton’s job approval rating was at 36% in mid-1993, but after impeachment proceedings were launched against him in 1998 and 1999, Clinton’s rating soared to the highest level of his presidency, reaching 73%.
