Look. I want to start by congratulating Joe Biden. He’s a Democrat. They’re supposed to hate everything about life “in Trump’s America.” It’s all supposed to be constant doom and gloom. We’re all supposed to be dangling over the apocalyptic precipice. They’re never supposed to acknowledge that anything is going well for anyone.
Joe Biden, bravely – perhaps stupidly – has rejected that attitude.
He is willingly acknowledging the unarguable fact that Trump is presiding over a spectacular economy. He admits that our unemployment numbers are great, and that our economic growth is the envy of the world. That’s a big step for any Democrat, let alone one who’s running for President.
The only ridiculous, laughable, and utterly hilarious problem is that – in Joe Biden’s addled mind – he thinks he’s responsible for it all.
Yes, he is honestly trying to claim that Trump is riding some sort of economic wave thanks to the Obama-Biden years:
“I know President Trump likes to take credit for the economy, and the econmoic growth, and the low unemployment numbers. But, just look at the facts – not the alternative facts. President Trump inherited an economy from Obama-Biden administration that was given to him — just like he inherited everything else in his life.”
I know what you’re thinking. ‘No one could really say that with a straight face.’ I assure you, Joe Biden did. There’s even video to prove it:

The problem, of course, is that Biden’s claim was debunked by none other than his President, Barack Obama. As you will no doubt recall, Trump’s predecessor claimed that jobs were never coming back. We had to settle. Back in 2016, Obama told us we’d need someone with a “magic wand” to restore jobs and rebuild the United States economy.
In fact, we were all supposed to “learn to code” as we accepted the “new normal.” Our GDP would remain stagnant at 2%, our jobless rates would never budge unless we completely re-educated the workforce, and we were going to shuffle forward like an army of economic zombies for the foreseeable future. Even US News has shredded his economic record.
We had to “learn to code.”
Clearly, the people running Joe Biden’s campaign have realized that running against the Trump economy would be disastrous. Polling shows that Trump’s economic approval sits – at least – around 65%, so arguing that he’s somehow hurting us would be futile. Instead, they’re trying to take credit for everything that’s happened since Obama left office. That is, in a word, insane.
The idea that Trump is somehow simultaneously the worst, most unfeeling, most idiotic, President in US history AND a man presiding over a blistering economy is ridiculous. If you’re campaigning on the idea that he’s abandoned the Obama-Biden strategy, he’s either done so to success or failure. It can’t be both.
Thank you, Joe Biden, for admitting that Trump’s economic policy is working.
P.S.: The above represents far more respect and examination than Joe Biden’s comments deserve. The proper response is:
