President Trump Signals Possible End To WH Coronavirus Press Conferences With Latest Tweet

The hostile media has become one of the biggest reasons to tune in and watch Trump slap them down, but it does get tiring after a while.

According to President Donald Trump’s Saturday evening tweet, it seems that the White House Coronavirus Task Force press conferences are over.

Reading the frustration in President Trump’s tweet, I wouldn’t be surprised if he stopped having them altogether. Even with a smaller crew sitting in the press seats, including his musings about injecting disinfectant to eradicate coronavirus at the media briefings, the news reporters have become intolerable.

“What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately. They get record ratings, & the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!”

President Trump has been using the task force briefings, which were supposed to be run by VP Mike Pence, as a way to get his message out to a broad audience. Whatever Trump decides to do, the media will pounce him for the decision. Having press briefings ordinarily results in barks of He is a narcissist. Not having the daily briefings would likely wind up in a tune of He is a coward…afraid of the press. Whatever Trump decides is fine with me.

The snide and snarky comments and the disrespect members of the press show to our president are juvenile and petty. It says a lot more about them than it does President Trump. Anyone who engages in such behavior warrants neither press credentials nor any business operating among an official “news” forum. President Trump is not perfect; no one is—but he sure is better than the alternative America was faced with in 2016.

It’s time to change the conversation. Remember during his very early rallies when he used to bring people on the stage with him who had loved ones who had been murdered by illegal aliens? It was his most persuasive argument to convince people that border security was essential, and I believe it won the election for him.

He needs to put a face on these huge unemployment numbers. Make people see the true cost of this shutdown. Yes, the coronavirus is tragic and is creating havoc—no denying that. But quit hiding the damage the “cure” is creating. Make people see it, and let them decide if it’s worth it.

People die in traffic accidents every day, but we still drive. We must snap out of this spell too many people are under, or it will drag all of us down.
