Joe Biden has been avoiding direct questions from the press for almost the entire election. Since the lockdown, he seems to only do online interviews, with some saying his answers are pre-written. Recently, a Fox News reporter managed to get a question in. Joe Biden’s response? It was problematic.
You can speculate all day about why Joe is avoiding questions from the media. After all, if you consider that most reporters are far-left Democrats he should have nothing to fear, right? Most of them would just lob him softballs? Yet despite this, Biden has refused to take questions after the few live events he’s appeared at.
But finally, a reporter performed a miracle and got a question to Joe Biden. The Democratic candidate decided to answer them. It went as good as you’d expect.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy managed to get in a question at the end of an event where Biden spoke, and asked the 77-year-old about past comments that he made about the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent actions that he took.
“You said that you warned President Trump in January that there was going to be a pandemic and what needed to be done,” Doocy said. “If you knew that, then why were you still hosting crowded campaign rallies in March?”
After the pandemic hit, Joe Biden held eight rallies in the month of March. President Trump only held one.
Seems a bit odd that Biden, who claimed to know better about the virus than Trump, was ignoring basic social distancing rules to hold eight rallies. Biden has repeatedly claimed he had better ideas for combating the pandemic than Trump. Yet he called Trump’s closing of the border to China “xenophobic” at the time—only to change his mind later.
There were numerous other times Biden asserted Trump do something about the pandemic, after Trump had already done it.
Biden wanted testing for COVID to be free… nine days after Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. The Democrat said testing should be available nationwide twelve days after Trump announced testing was available… nationwide. Biden demanded cooperation between the federal government and the states, after even Democrat governors openly thanked Trump for his support.
The list goes on and on. It seems like Biden’s “strategy” for the pandemic was to copy what Trump had already done, claiming it was his idea. Does he think the American people are that stupid? Or does he just expect the liberal media would cover for him?
They’ve been doing that for a long time now, but it hasn’t been working. When Americans look at Joe Biden, they see a man out of ideas—who can’t even string a few coherent words together. The country has just gone through one of the worst times in our history. Do we really want Biden to take over—just as we are getting to recover?
If this is how Biden is with something as critical as the pandemic, how will he be with any other issue the country faces? What will he do on trade? On dealing with our enemies? Will he bother to negotiate better deals for our workers?
He won’t be able to steal Trump’s ideas then.
This might be why Biden doesn’t want to take questions from the media. When forced to actually prove his leadership skills, the man comes up empty every time.
