CNN Exposed In Outrageous Scandal That Could End Them For Good

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz—an internationally recognized authority on U.S. Constitutional Law—filed a blockbuster $300 million defamation lawsuit against CNN, accusing the left-wing network of a “willful, deliberate, malicious effort to destroy my credibility.”

In his federal lawsuit, Dershowitz said CNN pushed “a sea of lies” to smear him by selectively editing remarks he made from the Senate floor in January, when he presented a legal defense against the Democrats’ botched impeachment of President Trump.

Dershowitz said he believes CNN defamed him as a retaliatory attack ordered “from the very top” of the network by airing a selectively-edited video clip.

Alan Dershowitz is a lifelong liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. He said ever since he criticized the Democrats’ sham impeachment of Trump, he has been viciously attacked by the left.

Basically, Dershowitz said CNN mischaracterized his comments to suggest that he said President Trump could not be impeached no matter what—even if he committed a crime. Dershowitz said that is not what he said at all.

“What CNN did here…is they just totally doctored the tape,” Dershowitz told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “If they had just shown the part where I said, if he does anything illegal, he can be impeached [that would’ve been fine]. But they doctored the tape to take that part out.”

This is what Dershowitz said during his impeachment defense:

“The only thing that would make a quid pro quo unlawful is if the quo were somehow illegal. Now we talk about motive. There are three possible motives that a political figure could have. One, a motive in the public interest and the Israel argument would be in the public interest.

The second is in his own political interest and the third, which hasn’t been mentioned, would be his own financial interest, his own pure financial interest, just putting money in the bank.

I want to focus on the second one for just one moment. Every public official that I know believes that his election is in the public interest and, mostly you are right, your election is in the public interes. And if a president does something which he believes will help him get elected in the public interest, that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment.”

Dershowitz plans to donate whatever he wins from CNN to charity. He underscored that he’s not suing CNN for financial gain, but to send a message that they cannot get away with smearing people with lies and ruining their reputations.

“I’m doing this to hold them accountable,” Dershowitz said. “They made a deliberate, willful decision—we believe from the very top—to purposely doctor the tape to make it look like I said something crazy, that a president can do anything, that he can commit crimes. I never said that!”

He continued: “I spent an hour in front of the Senate two days earlier saying if the president commits a crime, he can be impeached. And that was a whole thesis of my presentation. CNN knew that, and they doctored and edited the tape to make me say exactly the opposite. Shame on them!”

Dershowitz added: “They’re going to have to pay, and some good charities are going to benefit from CNN’s willful, deliberate, malicious effort to destroy my credibility as a constitutional scholar.”

Earlier this year, CNN settled a monster $275 million defamation lawsuit filed by teenager Nicholas Sandmann.

In his lawsuit, Sandmann accused CNN of falsely claiming that he had harassed and made racist slurs at a Native-American activist. The false narrative was promoted using doctored, edited videotape with the audio silenced.
