The news that Trump and the first lady tested positive for COVID sparks a wide spectrum of reactions. While even some Democrats offered well-wishes, many on the left spewed the same, tired attacks we’ve seen for years. But as President Trump traveled to Walter Reed Medical Center for treatment a flood of supporters gathered outside to cheer him on and prayer.
From all accounts, both the president and first lady are doing well since their positive tests for COVID. According to one report, the president has some troubling signs, but has since been recovering rapidly. Trump himself posted an update Saturday night, which has been seen by over 30 million viewers. Photos of the president working at Walter Reed have assured Americans that he is recovering rapidly.
News of the president’s condition has sparked a wide variety of responses. While some Democrats expressed support, many on the left—including Nancy Pelosi—could not help themselves in spreading more divisive, partisan attacks. But images of the president soldiering on even as he undergoes observations and treatment at the hospital has generated an overwhelming surge of support from Americans.
Americans gathered outside Walter Reed Medical Center on Saturday night to show support for President Trump after he tested positive for the coronavirus.
A woman named Anna told Breitbart News she attended the prayer rally because the president spoke up for Americans when they could not speak for themselves.
“Donald Trump had the courage and backbone, despite persecution, to speak for us and have commonsensical stances on major issues that we were not represented with,” she said.
“So the least we can do, when he’s suffered so much to represent us, is to come out here and let him know that the love for him is so great and we don’t always have the media megaphone, like hatred does. But we’re enormous. We love him,” Anna explained. [Source: Breitbart]
Other Americans shared why they were out there showing Trump support. A young black man bravely explained why he had come out to rally for the president’s recovery, echoing the same kind of appreciation for Trump million share.

Across America—and even outside the very hospital where he was staying—the president was receiving prayers and messages of support. Something that could have easily been used the left to deflate his campaign and slander his administration appears to be generating more support than we’ve seen yet.
It’s hard to say if Joe Biden could draw such a crowd if he was in Trump’s shoes. Doctors say the first 48 hours are critical—which has spurred on this movement from Americans to pray and send well wishes to the POTUS.
This diagnosis appears to have struck Americans of all backgrounds in a very personal way. They have come out to express devotion and appreciation for the president in ways that seem to reveal they think of him as a personal friend or family member. For four years, patriots have watched as Trump stood against a surge of hate, slander, lies, and even impeachment—all for putting us first.
Now, as he and his wife battle a disease that has crippled the world, Americans are revealing a deep sense of connection and love for the man who has put everything on the line.
I myself can say I was choked up to see pictures of the president, tie undone, as he worked at Walter Reed. This crisis has seemed to stir up Americans in ways few others could have.
As the left grows more bitter and resentful, too driven by partisan madness to show a shred of humanity, more and more Americans are rediscovering their patriotism in this hour.
May it last for years to come.
