Loudmouth Anti-Police Celebs Are Unusually Silent As Crime Surges Nationwide

All throughout last year, we heard from Democrats and the media of the need to defund police departments. Nobody with half a brain wanted such a thing. Every poll revealed that the vast majority of Americans, including black Americans, wanted more cops on the street not fewer.

But anyone who was anyone on the left jumped on the “defund” movement. That included numerous Hollywood celebrities, who slandered our police officers in support of violent rioters and looters. Some celebs even bailed out criminals, who went back to looting and rioting.

Funny how folks who live in gated communities—and can afford top-notch security—had no problem calling for the removal of police departments.

Now that crime is surging across blue states, where are these celebrities? Oh, they are retreated to their mansions, refusing to speak.

The same celebrities who locked arms last year with leftist activists like Black Lives Matter cofounder Patrisse Cullors to promote the “defund the police” movement have suddenly gone silent…

Legend, Portman, Lizzo, Taraji P. Henson, The Weeknd, Common, America Ferrera, Brie Larson, Yara Shahidi and Jane Fonda signed an open letter last June embracing #DefundPolice initiatives, hoping their A-list cachet could propel the movement forward…

A separate open letter, created by the Sampson-founded BLD PWR and signed by Tessa Thompson, Issa Rae, Billy Porter, Anthony Mackie, Idris Elba, Michael B. Jordan and more, demanded the Hollywood community “divest from police.”

That was before data began flooding in about rising levels of city-based violence nationwide. New York Magazine shared the grisly data, showing homicides spiked by roughly 30% in the country in 2020 and climbed 24% more during the first part of 2021. [Source: Just the News]

A recent poll shows that support for defunding the police is lower now than it was last year, with only 18% of Americans supporting it. Only 28% of black people want cops defunded. Yet, the arrogant liberal elite of Hollywood used their influence to demand our PDs be criminally under-supported.

But where is Natalie Portman now? What about John Legend and his insufferable wife Chrissy Teigen? Does Brie Larson care that homicides have risen by 30% in American since last year? Or that gun violence and robberies are out of control?

Will Jane Fonda or Taraji P. Henson call out the rise in violent crime? Will they demand our local and federal leaders do something about it—like hiring more cops?

Of course not. These celebrities don’t care about regular people like you or me. They only show up when they want to look important, jumping onto whatever fashionable liberal cause is trending. But when the rubber meets the road, and their comments come back on them, they are nowhere to be found.

None of these liberal celebrities will admit they are partly to blame for this rise in crime. They attacked police, demanding they be defunded. Many cities did just that—resulting in the current rise in crime. Celebrities should apologize and call for a return to supporting the Blue.

But something tells me it will be a long time before that happens.
