Social Media Erupts As Anti-American Team Flops During Olympics

Have you been following the Olympics over the last two weeks? If not, we don’t blame you. In addition to having coverage scattered across numerous apps, the events are fairly lackluster, given there are NO people in the stands (a pathetic COVID artifact). But there is another reason many Americans have tuned out of this year’s games.

Ordinarily, Americans love cheering on Team USA. Our young athletes represent the best in our country. The travel to foreign lands, representing our values, determination, and traditions.

But not this year. A number of American athletes have made a name for themselves by protesting our anthem and criticizing our country. Perhaps the worst has been our women’s soccer team, led by the insufferable and arrogant Megan Rapinoe.

They got plenty of attention after they virtue signaled during the World Cup. The liberal media gushed over that purple-haired activist and her team of smug, un-American protestors. Now, they were going to represent us against the world in the Olympics? Oh, sign me up!

But there seems to be justice in the world after all. Because all that woke signaling does not make up for actual talent. Because Megan and her social justice warriors lost twice, ending their shot at gold.

After spending years protesting against the U.S.A., the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team took an early loss against Sweden on July 21, right after the Tokyo Games opened, and then were out of gold medal contention entirely due to Sunday’s loss to Canada. [Source: Breitbart]

Normally, Americans would be heartbroken to see one of our teams lose that badly. But not this team. Plenty of people celebrated the women’s soccer team’s pathetic losses to Sweden and Canada.

“Maybe it would have been smarter for Team USA to focus more on the actual sport of soccer than the sport of ‘liberal wokeness,’” [Wayne Dupree] said…

Author Nick Adams posted several tweets revealing his satisfaction that Rapinoe and Team USA lost…

Commentator Dinesh D’Souza exclaimed that many Americans are celebrating Canada’s win over Team USA because at least the Canadians are not “anti-American”…

That, of course, was just the tip of the iceberg. Americans were clearly joyful to learn that a team known for slandering its own country did not go on to win the gold. Where are all the media outlets who gushed over Rapinoe and her team, now? Will they continue to hail this group of activists as icons? Or quickly ditch them, as the media loves to do to losers?

But maybe there is a silver lining in all this. Perhaps this loss can be a hard-won lesson for Rapinoe and her team? This could be something that wakes them up to the reality that social politics do not belong on the field. And, despite the praise of the media, fame is short lived and you need to be humble.

Nope!

After the U.S. women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to Canada on Monday at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, forward Megan Rapinoe told reporters, “Obviously, we never want to lose to Canada. I don’t think I’ve ever lost to Canada. … this sucks. It sucks.” [Source: Breitbart]

Okay, so not only is Meg an anti-American fraud, but she is a sore loser as well. And this is someone the media and advertisers want to use as the face of their industries?

Good luck with that guys. Something tells me consumers will be avoiding every product with her face on it.
