It’s hard to overestimate the impact this week’s elections will have on Congress. For nearly a year, Democrats have rejected the concerns and problems of the American people to try to force through Biden’s far-left agenda. They have ignored his countless failures and the many crises he’s created. But all that could change, after this Tuesday.
Democrats lost big time, in several blue strongholds. They are finally seeing that Joe Biden’s sinking approval is hurting them at the polls. Refusing to hold Biden accountable for the border crisis, Afghanistan, inflation, and many other problems is going to hurt them in the long run.
And House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy warned them in no uncertain terms: “Deal with Biden or you will lose everything next year.”

“If you’re a Democrat and President Biden won your seat by 16 points, you’re in a competitive race next year,” McCarthy told reporters. “You are no longer safe.”…
“Are you going to bring President Biden with his policies into your district to defend you? Are you going to bring the vice president? Terry McAuliffe did, and look what happened to him,” McCarthy cautioned. [Source: Daily Wire]
McCarthy was absolutely brutal when he confronted House Democrats. Republicans are eyeing 70 potential seats to flip next year, but he is saying it could be even more. He blasted Pelosi, warning Democrats that “she’s not going to be there to defend you.”
Rumors swirl that Pelosi will not run for re-election next year, meaning she won’t bother supporting Democrats who will have the fight of their lives to defend their seats. Meanwhile, McCarthy claims that bringing Biden into their districts to help will do nothing. They tried that in Virginia and lost big time to a newcomer Republican.
Perhaps it’s already too late for many Democrats to save themselves. Biden has done so much damage (in such a little amount of time) that it’s hard to believe anyone in his party can repair their reputation. All the pain and misery Americans have gone through this year is Biden’s fault. Democrats in Congress have done nothing to stop him. Even if they started openly opposing him now, it might not be enough.
But McCarthy, even as he’s chiding the left, is offering an olive branch. It is possible for Democrats to save themselves, if they “abandon the partisanship” that has marked their entire leadership. Maybe they can remedy their own futures by working with Republicans to oppose Pelosi’s socialist agenda and hold Joe accountable.
It’s possible (but perhaps not likely) that a few moderate Democrats can save their seats by working with Republicans on major issues.
We all know the truth, though. How many of those bitter partisan Democrats are willing to compromise with Republicans? They’ll most likely ignore McCarthy, dig in, and keep pushing a toxic agenda.
And lose big time, come November 2022.
