Democrat Candidate Sabotages His Own Campaign In Red-Controlled State

Just how dumb are Democrats? Oh, the list of reasons would go on forever. But here’s one that we’ll never understand, the fact they keep propping up failed candidate Francis O’Rourke as a candidate. The man lost his Texas Senate bid against Ted Cruz. Perhaps that had something to do with the fact “Beto” ran as a fake Hispanic, against a real one.

Then, after losing pathetically, he tried to run for president. That went as well as you’d expect. But the left isn’t done with this two-time loser. Because he just announced a run for Texas governor. And already he’s lost because he’s promising to confiscate Texans’ guns.

Texas Democrat Robert Francis O’Rourke, commonly referred to as “Beto,” told CNN during an interview on Sunday that he wants to pursue gun confiscation if he is elected to be the state’s next governor…

Bash then played a clip from one of the presidential debates where O’Rourke declared, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

“Is that what you would still do as governor of Texas?” Bash asked O’Rourke.

“Look, we are a state that has a long, proud tradition of responsible gun ownership. And most of us here in Texas do want — do not want to see our friends, our family members, our neighbors shot up with these weapons of war,” O’Rourke said. “So, yes, I still hold this view.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Talk about out of touch. O’Rourke, who often pretends to be Hispanic by using the nickname “Beto,” contradicted himself when asked about gun control. He claimed Texas has a “long, proud tradition” of gun ownership. And he proceeds to promise he will take away Texans’ AR-15s.

The man is so ignorant of guns, he compared AK-47s—fully automatic rifles used in combat—to AR-15s, an entirely different kind of rifle that is only semi-automatic. As usual, a Democrat is pushing gun control when he doesn’t even understand the firearms he is talking about.

Does anyone think a man promising to take away guns from Texans has a snowball’s chance in hell at winning an election? From everything we’ve seen in recent years, Texas is not becoming “purple,” but redder. If Democrats want a chance to win a statewide election, they better find someone that is somewhat moderate. Someone that can appeal to both liberals (the very still left) and conservatives.

Instead, what do they do? They prop up a man so far left he makes Biden look like Reagan. O’Rourke is a radical socialist that has frequently promised to shut down America’s Second Amendment rights. He was going to be Biden’s “gun control czar.” But I guess even Biden didn’t want the guy around.

Now, he thinks he has a chance at becoming the governor of a state that went for Trump both elections?

Democrats are better off nominating Matthew McConaughey.
