Joe Biden recently claimed he was going to run for reelection in 2024. Now, that might seem ridiculous to you and anyone that has been paying attention this year. There’s no way a man who has failed so much has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning reelection, right? Probably.
It seems Biden is pushing this idea, because he has to. If he abandons ship so early in his first term (not even after a first full year), the Democrats’ chances at winning the 2022 midterms evaporate. Most experts claim they are already doomed, but if Biden refuses to run again, that is like admitting defeat. And if there’s one thing Democrats can’t do, is admit when they’re wrong.
But there is a bigger problem brewing. If Biden is unable to run again, the party has no one they really want taking his place.
President Joe Biden has said he will run for a second term in 2024 at age 81, but a poll shows that if he does not only 13 percent would support Vice President Kamala Harris. Former first lady Michelle Obama came in as the No. 2 pick at 10 percent.
However, neither woman got a majority of support from respondents, with 36 percent saying they were “unsure” who they would support, and 13 percent said they would choose someone who was not on the list. [Source: Breitbart]
This is pretty bad for the Democrats. Harris, an actual politician and Biden official, only got 13% of this poll. The next highest person was Michelle Obama, a woman who is not a politician with zero executive experience (who is unlikely to run). Nobody else got above 10 percent, with the majority of voters saying they didn’t know who they would support.
That’s not a great sign for party already struggling with their platform, vision, and message to America.
Contrast that with recent, numerous polls coming from Republicans. Donald Trump dominates 2024 polls, gaining at least 70% of the vote or more. Close after him is a list of upcoming conservatives who have the support of many Republican voters. Should Trump not run, conservatives have a strong list of people to choose from.
Democrats, not so much. Are there are rising stars within the DNC? Pete Buttigieg was a failure before he ever left South Bend. Kamala Harris is a loser. Many Democrats in Congress are old and preparing for retirement. All we have left is AOC and her “squad,” a group of radical socialists only good at upsetting Americans.
There’s not much to look forward to, among liberal voters. That doesn’t bode well for the next two elections. Without motivation, few of them will bother going to the polls. Meanwhile, independents and Republicans have a fire under their seats to reject far-left politicians. They will come out of the woodwork to reject Biden’s toxic agenda, voting out Democrats at the local, state, and national level.
Democrats have a very big problem on their hands.
