Leading Republican Prepares Impeachment Proceedings For Biden

Senator Ted Cruz (GOP-TX) said he thinks the House GOP might seek impeachment against President Biden should they takeover the U.S. House after the 2022 midterms.

During the new episode of his podcast “The Verdict,” Ted Cruz said Dems under House leader Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had tried to “weaponize” the impeachment against Donald Trump, which might mean an expectation that conservatives return the favor once they gain control over the House.

“I do believe there is a chance of this,” he said. “Whether it is justified or not … the Dems weaponized impeachment. They used it for partisan reasons to go after Donald Trump because they hated him. And one of the true disadvantages of doing this … is the more you weaponize this and change it into a partisan cudgel. I said at the time when we had a Dem president and a GOP House, you can expect an impeachment. That is not how impeachment will work, but I believe the Dems crossed the line.”

“I believe there will be huge pressure on a GOP House to start impeachment proceedings,” Cruz said. “I believe there are possibly multiple grounds for impeachment. The most compelling is the complete lawlessness is President Joe Biden’s refusal to enforce the southern border — his choice to deify immigration laws and allow in 2 million illegals unimpeded in direct contravention to his obligation under Article 2 of the Constitution to ensure that the laws be faithfully upheld. That is probably the biggest grounds for impeachment, but there could be others.”

“And because Dems decided this is yet another tool in their partisan war chest, I believe there is a true risk that turnabout will be fair game,” he said.

This comes at a time when Democrats are continuing to use their rhetoric to attack Trump supporters and have yet to admit that the Trump impeachments were based on hoax evidence. If the Republicans want to keep their credibility, impeaching Biden is not only something they should “think” about doing or threaten doing, it is something that should be instantly worked on the second the GOP wins back the house.
