AOC Gets Terrible Health News She Never Expected

Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) has announced Sunday that she now has COVID-19. The announcement just one week after the New York lawmaker was caught in the red-state of Florida and partying at a drag club with a celebrity named Billy Porter and skipping voting in Washington, D.C, because of the “ongoing pandemic.”

“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has got a positive test result for Coronavirus. She is having symptoms and getting better at home,” her office said in a comment.

“The Congresswoman got her booster this Fall, and encourages all Americans to get their booster and follow the guidance,” the office said.

While AOC encourages other Americans to follow the CDC guidelines, the congresswoman ignored it over the New Year’s weekend. In a post on Dec 9, the CDC advised people to “wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose to help protect others and yourself” and to stay “6 feet away from others who do not live with you.” Ocasio-Cortez was shown kissing and hugging Porter, who does not live with her.

It is unclear where AOC got infected with COVID-19, but it should be stressed that according to The NY Times Covid tracker, the state of NY has averaged 71,720 cases per day over the previous 14 days. Florida has averaged 58,336 cases each day during this time. More specifically, Miami-Dade County, Florida, where she got some sun, has had an average of 15,777 new cases per day over the previous 14 days, while AOC’s home county of NY City, New York, has had around 39,527 daily cases.

Despite the close, if not better, covid numbers to Dem-run states, some progressives have tried to label Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) as “DeathSantis” for his approach to the covid pandemic in allowing citizens to make choices for themselves.

When asked about this irony of AOC and other Dems visiting Florida of all places, Governor DeSantis said to reporters: “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who wanted to escape to Florida over the past two years, I would be a pretty wealthy guy, lemme tell ya.”
