As Red States Court Twitter HQ–Florida Says ‘No Thanks’

The Internet was turned upside down on the news that Elon Musk bought Twitter. Well, at least Twitter was turned upside down. Many of the leftists who use the social app or work there freaked out. Apparently, they fear what might become of their precious echo chamber, if free speech was actually allowed.

Regardless, chances are the site will continue to be run by purple-haired lesbians who live near Silicon Valley. Numerous red state governors have asked Musk to uproot the company and transplant it to their home, moving those leftist employees with it. But conservative Ron DeSantis of Florida has better plans.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday said he supports what Elon Musk is doing with Twitter, but he does not necessarily want the tech company relocating to the Sunshine State…

“In Florida, I think we’ve done very well, particularly over the last few years, attracting businesses that are producing things,” he said, noting that his administration has worked “really hard” on vocational and career education. But ultimately, “importing some tech company from San Francisco has not been high on our list,” he said.

“I think that what happens is they tend to come in, they drive up the cost of living for everybody else and okay, yeah, they enjoy our lower taxes, but you know, what is, what are they really providing?” he asked. [Source: Breitbart]

Woah. Ron DeSantis must be friends with Mike Rowe, eh? The Florida governor applauded Musk’s takeover of the (failing) liberal platform. But he does not want Twitter moving to Florida. How come?

DeSantis said the state has worked very hard to get vocational companies to move to the state. Companies that are “producing things.” It seems DeSantis wants blue-collar folks living in Florida, not the purple-haired gremlins that reject traditional family values, drive up the costs of living for their neighbors (through gentrification), and vote Democrat.

Numerous states have been bending over backward to get tech companies to move. But are they really willing to deal with the fallout? The cost of living is skyrocketing in once cheap, family-friendly regions. All because vapid, un-American tech workers are moving in. And with them come all their Marxism and “woke” social perspectives.

Many fear Texas will turn blue, because of how eager the state is to cover the state in what is essentially liberal flypaper. DeSantis would rather have hard-working folks who know how to get their hands dirty living in Florida, than soy latte-sipping male feminists whose low testosterone makes it impossible for them to impregnate a woman.

I might be sounding harsh, but it’s the truth. There’s a cost that comes with transplanting liberal companies to red states. Just ask Arizona and Austin.
