Three teenagers were just arrested for approximately a dozen shootings across Austin over a single weekend, and because this is Biden's America — sorry, the aftermath of Biden's America — one of the suspects isn't even a United States citizen.
But remember, they're just coming here for a better life. A better life that apparently includes drive-by shootings and felony charges.
Seventeen-year-old Cristian Mondragon has been charged with six felonies in connection with the shooting spree. As reported by Not the Bee, citing Fox 7 Austin, it was revealed in court that Mondragon is not a U.S. citizen and currently has an ICE hold. He was already on probation when the shootings happened. Let that marinate — on probation, in the country illegally, and allegedly terrorizing an American city with a dozen shootings in a weekend.
The six felony charges against Mondragon include two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, theft of firearms, and evading arrest with a motor vehicle. That's quite the resume for a 17-year-old who shouldn't have been here in the first place.
Two additional suspects, ages 15 and 16, were also arrested. Their identities are being withheld because they're being processed through juvenile court. Three teenagers. A dozen shootings. One weekend in Austin.
Now here's where it gets fun — and by fun, I mean infuriating.
We've spent years listening to the left tell us that enforcing immigration law is "cruel" and "inhumane." That wanting to know who's crossing our border makes us "xenophobic." That these are just "undocumented workers" looking for opportunity.
Well, the opportunity Cristian Mondragon found was apparently shooting up Austin, Texas.
This is exactly what we've been warning about. Not every person who crosses illegally is a criminal — we've never said that. But when you have zero vetting, zero enforcement, and zero accountability, the criminals come right along with everyone else. And it's American communities that pay the price.
Austin residents spent a weekend dodging bullets because, among other reasons, someone who had no legal right to be in this country was allegedly on a shooting rampage with his teenage accomplices. Those are somebody's neighborhoods. Somebody's kids were playing outside. Somebody's car got shot up on the way to work.
And Mondragon was already on probation. Which means the system had already caught him doing something wrong and decided to let him walk. No deportation. No detention. Just probation and a pat on the back. How'd that work out, Austin?
Three teens, a dozen shootings, six felonies, and an ICE hold. That's not a headline — that's an indictment of every politician who told us the border was "secure."
