Senator John Fetterman, the hoodie-wearing Democrat from Pennsylvania who once showed up to the United States Senate in gym shorts, just did something no one in his party has the spine to do — he called the communists in the Democratic Party what they are. By name. Out loud. On the record.
You almost have to respect it. Almost.
Fetterman didn't hide behind the usual DC weasel language about "progressive allies" or "colleagues with differing policy views." He flat-out used the word "communists" and pointed fingers at specific members of his own caucus, including singling out the far-left Seattle mayor for running the kind of city that makes Havana look functional. According to Louder With Crowder, the left is calling this a political career-ender. The right is calling it Tuesday.
Here's the beautiful irony nobody on the left wants to talk about. Fetterman was supposed to be their guy. The blue-collar, Carhartt-wearing populist who was going to prove Democrats still understood working people. He beat Dr. Oz in 2022 by convincing Pennsylvania he was one of them. And now? He's burning down the party's house from the inside, and they can't figure out how to stop him because they spent two years telling America he was their champion.
The progressive wing is apoplectic. They're calling him a traitor, a sellout, a Republican plant — basically everything except wrong. Because that's the one thing they can't say. When a sitting Democratic senator looks at his own caucus and says "those people are communists," you don't get to pretend it's misinformation when the voting records are public.
What Fetterman understands — and what the consultant class in Washington still refuses to accept — is that normal Americans figured this out years ago. We've been calling them communists at the dinner table since 2020. The only difference is that now a guy with a (D) next to his name is saying it into a microphone.
Let's be clear about what's actually happening here. The Democratic Party has a communist problem, and everybody knows it. The squad types, the defund-the-police crowd, the "abolish ICE" caucus, the people who think price controls and government-run healthcare are moderate positions — they've been steering the ship for years. Fetterman just said the thing out loud that makes the donor class nervous.
And the Seattle mayor catching a stray? Perfect. Seattle — the city that let anarchists literally seize six blocks of downtown and called it a "summer of love" — getting called out as a communist outpost by a fellow Democrat is the kind of friendly fire that warms the soul.
The left is already running the playbook. They'll say Fetterman had a health episode. They'll say he's been "radicalized." They'll say Fox News got to him. What they won't do is look in the mirror and ask whether maybe — just maybe — the guy who actually talks to working people in diners and union halls might know something the Brooklyn podcast class doesn't.
Fetterman's political career might be over in Democratic primary politics. But here's the thing — he clearly doesn't care anymore. And there's nothing more dangerous to a political party than a member with nothing left to lose and a microphone.
We didn't think we'd ever say this, but John Fetterman might be the most honest Democrat in Washington. And that's exactly why they're going to destroy him.
