When our country is under attack by lies and misdirection, we need bold leaders who are not afraid to tell the truth. That’s exactly what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent did when he stood up to Senator Elizabeth Warren in front of the entire nation. He didn’t back down. He didn’t play Washington games. He told the truth, plain and simple — and in doing so, he reminded America who really caused the affordability crisis that is hurting working families.
Let’s break it down. Senator Warren tried to blame President Trump for high prices and inflation. But Bessent turned the tables. He said it was Warren and President Biden who destroyed the buying power of the American people. And he’s right. When Biden was in office, the government spent trillions of dollars we didn’t have. They printed money like it was candy. That made the dollar weaker, and it made everything from groceries to gas more expensive. That’s not Trump’s doing — that’s the direct result of bad Democrat policy.
Remember when gas was under $2 a gallon? Remember when you could buy a cart full of groceries without emptying your wallet? That was under President Trump. He kept taxes low, energy flowing, and the economy strong. Then Biden and his allies came in and wrecked it all. And now, instead of taking responsibility, they try to shift the blame.
That’s where Scott Bessent stepped in. When Warren asked him whether Trump’s comments about the “affordability crisis” were just a hoax, he didn’t dodge the question. He looked her straight in the eye and said, “Senator, it may be a bit nuanced for you, but what the President is referring to is the media saying that the affordability crisis was generated by this administration, when it was you and President Biden who destroyed the buying power of the American people.”
That’s a fact. And it’s about time someone said it.
Then Warren tried to stir up more nonsense about a joke President Trump made about the Federal Reserve. Trump joked that he might sue his Fed nominee, Kevin Warsh, if he didn’t lower interest rates. It was clearly a joke. Everyone knows President Trump loves to poke fun — even at people like Warren, whom he famously calls “Pocahontas.” But Warren tried to take it seriously in a desperate attempt to paint Trump as dangerous.
Again, Bessent didn’t take the bait. He calmly responded, “That is up to the president.” And when Warren kept pushing, Bessent reminded her and everyone else that the president jokes about a lot of things — including jokes about her. He didn’t even have to repeat the joke. Everyone knew exactly what he meant. And the best part? Even Warren had to admit it got a lot of laughs.
This kind of confidence, this kind of honesty, is what we need more of in Washington. Scott Bessent didn’t just defend President Trump — he defended the truth. He showed that this administration is not afraid of the media or the left-wing politicians who try to rewrite history.

Let’s be clear: the affordability crisis is real. Families are struggling. But it wasn’t caused by President Trump. It was caused by reckless spending, energy strangling regulations, and inflationary policies from the Biden years — and Elizabeth Warren was right in the middle of it all.
Now that we have leadership in the White House that respects the Constitution, promotes free markets, and puts America first, we’re already seeing signs of recovery. But the fight isn’t over. The same people who caused the crisis are still out there, lying about what happened and trying to rewrite history.
Well, we won’t let them. We remember who stood up and told the truth. We remember who caused the pain. And we will keep standing for the principles that built this country — truth, liberty, responsibility, and limited government. Thank you, Secretary Bessent, for reminding America what real leadership looks like.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Trolling Pocahontas is amazing to see 🤣
BESSENT: “The President also made a joke about you that I won't repeat, Senator Warren.”
WARREN: “Yes, he did.”
BESSENT: “It got a lot of laughs.”
