Democrats Want to Remove Trump Using the 25th Amendment Because He Used a Bad Word While Telling Iran to Open the Strait

Let me get this straight. Iran has shut down the Strait of Hormuz — the narrow waterway through which 20% of the world’s oil supply flows — and has spent six weeks threatening American forces, rejecting every ceasefire proposal, and daring us to do something about it. President Trump, doing what presidents are supposed to do, told Iran in no uncertain terms to reopen the strait or face the consequences. And Democrats responded by… trying to remove him from office. Not because of the war. Not because of the strategy. Because he used the F-word on Truth Social.

We are governed by the most unserious people in the history of representative democracy. While American pilots are getting shot down over Iranian airspace and our Special Forces are pulling off rescue missions that would make a Hollywood screenwriter blush, Senator Chris Murphy spent his Easter Sunday calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. Because Trump said a bad word. On the internet. Someone get this man a fainting couch.

Here’s what actually happened. On Easter Sunday, Trump posted on Truth Social telling Iran’s leadership — and I’m paraphrasing the clean version here — to open the strait or face hell. He set a Tuesday night deadline. He made it crystal clear that every bridge and every power plant in Iran would be rubble by midnight if they didn’t come to the table. Was it diplomatic? No. Was it the kind of language you’d hear at a state dinner? Absolutely not. But you know what it was? Effective. Because within hours, intermediaries were back at the negotiating table, and Iran was suddenly open to discussing a 45-day ceasefire. Funny how that works.

But Democrats didn’t notice that part. They were too busy drafting press releases.

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari of Arizona — who, it should be noted, is of Iranian descent — called the President a “deranged lunatic” and demanded the Cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment. Hakeem Jeffries, the top Democrat in the House, called Trump’s message “disgusting and unhinged.” Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico piled on. The whole Democratic caucus executed their coordinated outrage routine with the precision of a North Korean military parade.

Let’s talk about what the 25th Amendment actually is, since Democrats seem to think it’s a magic button you press whenever a Republican president hurts your feelings. The 25th Amendment was designed for situations where a president is physically or mentally incapacitated — think coma, stroke, or being under anesthesia for surgery. It requires the Vice President AND a majority of the Cabinet to agree the president can’t do his job. JD Vance isn’t invoking anything. The Cabinet isn’t invoking anything. Everyone in Trump’s orbit is fully behind the strategy. This is theater, pure and simple.

And the timing couldn’t be more revealing. We are in the sixth week of a shooting war with Iran. American servicemembers are in harm’s way right now, today, as you read this. Delta Force and SEAL Team Six just pulled off a rescue mission to save a downed Air Force pilot behind enemy lines. Iran has been lobbing missiles, closing shipping lanes, and rejecting every diplomatic off-ramp we’ve offered. This is a genuine national security crisis — the kind of moment where you’d expect the opposition party to at least pretend to be serious.

Instead, they’re clutching pearls over profanity.

You want to know what’s actually “unhinged”? Trying to remove a wartime president because his Truth Social post wasn’t suitable for a Hallmark card. You want to know what’s actually “deranged”? Prioritizing tone-policing over the fact that Iran is threatening to blow up data centers, firing on oil facilities, and holding global energy markets hostage.

The American people see right through this. They always do. When Trump talks tough, things happen. When Democrats talk about the 25th Amendment, nothing happens — except maybe a few fundraising emails go out. And that’s really what this is about, isn’t it? It’s not about fitness for office. It’s not about constitutional principles. It’s about keeping the base angry and the donations flowing.

Trump has set an 8 PM Tuesday deadline. He’s told Iran this is their last chance. Whether you love his style or hate it, the man is doing what he said he’d do — and Iran is listening. Meanwhile, Democrats are doing what they always do: performing outrage for the cameras while offering exactly zero solutions.

The 25th Amendment isn’t a recall election. It isn’t impeachment lite. And it sure as hell isn’t a tool for removing a president because he talks like a construction foreman instead of a diplomat. If Democrats want to beat Trump, they should try winning an election. Until then, maybe sit this one out.
