For years, Democrats and their friends in the media have insisted that illegal immigrants voting in American elections is a myth. A conspiracy theory. A fever dream cooked up by conservatives who spend too much time yelling at cable news.
Well, someone might want to pass that memo along to the FBI.
Federal authorities just arrested a Mauritanian national living in Philadelphia who allegedly voted in five U.S. presidential election cycles while falsely claiming to be an American citizen. Five. As in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024.
Meet Mahady Sacko, a 50-year-old illegal immigrant who was ordered deported from the United States back in 2000. Instead of leaving, prosecutors say Sacko stuck around under ICE supervision and proceeded to do something Democrats assure us never happens: he registered to vote and cast ballots in federal elections.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Sacko falsely represented that he was a U.S. citizen in order to register and vote. An FBI agent reviewing state records found that Sacko voted repeatedly over the years, including in both primary and general elections.
He allegedly voted in person in most of those elections and even cast a mail-in ballot during the 2020 primary.
In other words, the man wasn’t exactly hiding under a rock. He was showing up and participating in America’s electoral process for nearly two decades — despite not being a citizen and despite already having been ordered removed from the country.
But remember: this never happens.
That’s the line we’ve heard for years. Every time someone raises concerns about election integrity, the response is immediate and predictable. The media rolls out a panel of “experts” who assure us that non-citizen voting is “vanishingly rare” or basically nonexistent.
Except every few months another case like this pops up.
And when it does, the same people who insisted it was impossible suddenly develop a case of selective amnesia.
Just last year, authorities in North Carolina charged dozens of non-citizens who had registered and voted illegally, many of whom had done so for years before being caught. In Texas, election officials have repeatedly identified non-citizens on voter rolls who cast ballots before the system flagged them.
None of these cases fit the neat narrative that illegal voting is a paranoid fantasy.
They’re inconvenient facts.
And facts, as we’ve learned, are deeply unpopular in certain corners of the political ecosystem.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings summed up the absurdity perfectly: the media keeps insisting this problem doesn’t exist — while law enforcement keeps arresting people for doing exactly that.
Now, to be clear, no one is claiming that millions of illegal immigrants are secretly voting in every election. That’s not the point.
The point is much simpler: Democrats and the media have spent years telling the public this literally never happens.
Yet here we are.
A man ordered deported nearly a quarter century ago allegedly managed to vote in five presidential election cycles before finally getting caught.
If convicted, Sacko could face up to five years in federal prison.
Which raises a rather obvious question.
If one illegal immigrant can allegedly cast ballots for nearly two decades before anyone notices, how many others slipped through the cracks?
Democrats insist the number is basically zero.
The FBI arrest in Philadelphia suggests otherwise.
