Hillary Risks Jail Time to Keep Bill Out of Prison

The rule of law is not a suggestion. It is the bedrock of our republic. And when powerful people like Hillary Clinton decide they are above it, it is our duty — as citizens and patriots — to stand up and say, “Enough is enough!”

This week, the House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, took a bold step in defense of truth and accountability. They announced they are moving to hold Hillary Clinton in criminal contempt of Congress. Why? Because she refused to obey a lawful subpoena. She was ordered to testify in an investigation about Jeffrey Epstein — a case that continues to raise troubling questions about who knew what and when. But instead of showing up and telling the truth, Hillary Clinton simply ignored the law.

This isn’t just about politics. It’s about the principle that no one — not even a former Secretary of State or a First Lady — is above the law. Congress has the constitutional authority to investigate matters that affect the nation. When it issues a subpoena, it carries the full weight of the people’s will. If Congress allows someone like Hillary Clinton to ignore that power, it weakens the very foundation of our government.

Chairman Comer and the Oversight Committee did not rush to judgment. They spent five months negotiating with the Clintons’ legal team. They postponed depositions out of respect when the Clintons said they had a scheduling conflict. They gave them every chance to comply. But at every turn, the Clintons delayed, dodged, and finally refused outright.

In a letter to Congress, the Clintons claimed the subpoenas were “legally invalid.” But let’s be honest — that’s just a fancy way of saying, “We don’t feel like following the rules.” They even said, “Now is the time to fight for this country.” But what kind of fight is it when you run from answering questions under oath?

This is not the first time the Clintons have played by their own rules. From the private email server scandal to the shady dealings of the Clinton Foundation, the American people have seen this pattern before — deny, delay, deflect. But this time, Congress is holding the line. And that’s exactly what the Constitution demands.

The Oversight Committee will vote next week to hold both Hillary and Bill Clinton in contempt. If the full House agrees, the matter moves to the Department of Justice for possible prosecution. That’s how our system is supposed to work. Lawmakers make the laws, and no one — not a president, not a cabinet member, not a Clinton — gets to ignore them.

This should not be a partisan issue. Every American, no matter their party, should want honest investigations and equal justice. If we start allowing people to skip out on subpoenas just because they’re famous or powerful, we might as well tear up the Constitution and throw it in the trash. That’s not the kind of country our Founders built, and it’s not one we should accept.

We must demand accountability. We must demand courage from our leaders. And we must support efforts like this one by Chairman Comer and the House Oversight Committee. They are standing in the breach, defending the rule of law from those who have too long believed they are untouchable.

The time for excuses is over. The American people deserve answers. And anyone who refuses to give them should face the full consequences. This is not about revenge — it’s about restoring trust. It’s about making sure the law applies to everyone, even the Clintons.

Let the vote go forward. Let justice be done. And let every elected official know: the people are watching. And we are ready to defend our republic — no matter what.
